Searching For Profitable Jobs For Content Writers

It is all very well and good wanting to pick and choose your own hours and work from home. However, no-one wants to do that find themselves scratching around on the breadline wondering where the next pay check is going to come from. There is an abundance of work to be readily found. However, a lot of it is so low paid that it is derisory. Therefore, a lot of content writers end up giving up before they even get started and end up potentially missing out on what could be a lucrative career.

So, just where do you find profitable jobs for content writers?

Writing magazines and journals

These are brilliant places to start because they are generally higher paid than say the online companies. However, because of the lucrative nature of the work competition is very stiff and you will need to demonstrate a strong, proven track record within the industry in order to stand a chance of success. I would suggest trying to pick up at least one of these magazines every month just to see what kind of options are available to you.

Set up a website

Having a professional looking website that clearly outlines the services that you provide can go a long way towards securing profitable work. Businesses in particular need to know that they are dealing with a fellow professional and while a website is not essential it is the perfect platform for you to showcase your skills

Search online

There is an abundance of freelance work online. However, if you are looking for content work that pays attractive rates then you are going to have to be prepared to dig a little deeper than usual. A lot of conventional recruitment agencies also recruit freelance workers, so don’t fall into the trap of assuming that that particular door is closed to you.

Your local business community

Businesses need compelling content for their marketing materials. A lot of companies are also far happier working with someone local rather than someone on the other side of the world. If you are friendly, and outgoing and prepared to meet with them face to face you will also greatly increase your chances of securing higher rates of pay. You are also far likelier to get repeat work which can significantly take the pressure off you.

A lot of freelancers spend so much time applying for gigs, that it seriously erodes the time that could be spent working paid jobs. Don’t fall into that trap!
